In the restaurants and tavernas you should definitely try out traditional “meze”, that consists of many small local dishes. There can be up to 30 different small dishes and you are supposed to try everything. Often you can choose if you prefer meat or fish meze. There are many sights in Nicosia, for excample Saint John’s cathedral is worth visiting. It was built in 1665 and it has beautiful frescoes from the 16th century. In Nicosia there are also many shops to fit any taste and purse. The two main streets for shops are Ledra and Onasagorou Street.
