Nicosia Cyprus

The 1000-year-old capital of Cyprus has approximately 280 000 inhabitants. Nicosia has plenty of shops, restaurants, tavernas, cafes and bars. In the restaurants and tavernas you should definitely try out traditional “meze”, that consists of many small local dishes. There can be up to 30 different small dishes and you are supposed to try everything. Often you can choose if you prefer meat or fish meze. There are many nice taverns in the “Laiki Geitonia” where pedestrians can enjoy the old atmosphere.
